STAFF
At Miles Nurseries our philosophy is one of team work. We feel this is essential, particularly in a business as small as ours.
The key members of our team are:
TOM MILES
Proprietor and responsible for sales,
customer relations and planning
business strategy.
Tom has
experience of many sectors of the
industry from very prestigious private
garden projects in London to large
scale amenity planting schemes (the
M1 junction 13 to Milton Keynes link
road being his largest impact on our
landscape).
Tom also manages his
wife Sue's family farm.

LAWSON FINNAMORE
Lawson is production manager and is
responsible for the operational running
of the nursery.

HELEN ZALEWSKI
Helen has special
responsibilities for looking after our
landscape customers and for the
'Oasis in Hoby' retail area.

HISTORY
  Miles Nurseries started on a 'green
field' site in the autumn of 1988.
I had
been looking for a suitable site for the
previous 18 months without success
and so decided to start in a less than
ideal location.
Previously I had spent
10 years working in various sectors of
the 'landscape industry'.
I was unaware at the time quite how
less than ideal it was, as the 'disaster'
pictures show.
Happily our
windbreaks are now mature and
engineering works have been done to
greatly reduce the risk of flooding.
Originally the nursery only produced
shrub liners and cuttings. Today
although this is still the core of our
business, our range includes grasses
and ferns and we are involved in
contract growing and a 'cash & carry'
operation.
